Joseph Anthony Zena, 84, died Saturday, May 28, 2016, at home. Born October 28, 1931, in Jersey City, he was the son of Anthony and Anna Lombardi Zena. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Jersey City, then served as a Corporal in the United States Army Signal Corps during the Korean War. He earned his Bachelor Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Class of 1957, and later a Master Degree from New York University. He had resided in Bridgewater for the past fifty-three years. Joseph retired in 1997 as Purchasing Manager for Bristol - Myers Squibb, Princeton, after more than thirty years with the company. He was a member of the Somerset County Fish & Game Protective Association, Bridgewater. An accomplished photographer, he had worked as such prior to and during his service in the war. He enjoyed model trains, travel, and big band era music. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a Communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Bound Brook. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of fifty-four years, Barbara Gilmore Zena; his daughters, Elizabeth (Jeff) Barclay of North Plainfield, Nancy (Peter) Borowski of Robbinsville; his grandchildren, Thomas (Kristin) Zena, Joseph Barclay, Andrew (Melissa) and Julia Borowski, and great-grandchildren Luana, Krystina, and Ryleigh Zena. Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Thursday, June 2, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church. Friends will be received at the funeral home 4:00 - 8:00 P.M.
