Joseph Ronald Kosta, 81, passed away on July 4, 2022, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital - Somerset. Joe was the son of Joseph and Priscilla (Miller) Kosta. Born in New Brunswick, he spent his youth between New Brunswick and Pasadena, CA and graduated New Brunswick High School in 1959. He worked for PSE&G, in Metuchen as a station operator, retiring 2003. Joseph was a talented artist and writer. He loved drawing, oil painting, pencil sketching and reading. Joe was a member of the traveling catholic boys’ choir in New Brunswick. He loved taking trips into Manhattan with his kids and playing board games, especially Monopoly and Parcheesi – and would frequently ask his opponents if they were sure of their moves. He was a loving and devoted father.
Joe was predeceased by his wife, Christine (Brock) Kosta in 1982. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Kosta -Becker and partner Mark Dempsey and his son Joseph Michael and his wife Gloria, granddaughter Ashley Christine and many extended family members.
Gathering with the family will be 6:00 – 9:00 PM, Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. Funeral services will begin 10:00 AM, Wednesday at the funeral home followed by an 11:00 am graveside service at Bound Brook Cemetery.
