Joseph Romano

Mr. Joseph D. Romano, Sr. died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville. Born in Bound Brook, he was the son of Thomas and Katharine (Rick) Romano. A lifelong resident of Bound Brook, he was the owner of Romano Bus Company in Bound Brook. He was a past Exalted Ruler of the Bound Brook Elks Lodge #1388, a member of the American Legion, Giles Biondi Post 63, Bound Brook, a past member of the Bound Brook Relief Fire Co. #4, and an exempt fireman. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Mr. Romano was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie in November and his son, Joseph Jr. in 2011. He is survived by his three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will begin 9:30 AM, Monday, December 30, 2013 at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, December 29, from 2:00 - 4:00 PM only.
