Joseph Felix Gleason, 79, died Saturday, August 5, 2015, at home. Born June 14, 1938, in Cloquet, Minnesota, he was the son of Felix J. and Helen I. McIntire Gleason. He resided in Bound Brook most of his life, graduating from Bound Brook High School, Class of 1956. He moved to North Branch in 2005. Joe served in the United States Army during from 1959 to 1962, and reconnected with a few old Army buddies in the last few years. He had worked for Johns Manville Corporation for many years, then for Cablevision. For the past five years he was a driver for Kensington Bus Company, Inc., Somerville. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years. He enjoyed traveling to Oregon, Colorado, California, Maryland, Michigan and Pennsylvania. He was very close with his grandchildren and very close friends in the area. Joe is survived by his son, Joseph D. Gleason of Piscataway; his daughters, Beth Anne (Matthew) Petrushka, and Carrie Dell Gleason, both of Littleton, Colorado; his siblings, Raymond Gleason of Bound Brook, Thomas “Skinny” Gleason of LaPine, Oregon, Mary (Tony) Costabile of Bound Brook; his beloved grandchildren Aaron and Jacob Petruska, and several nieces and nephews. Joe will be sadly missed by his family and friends Friends will be received at the funeral home, 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Saturday, August 12, with a funeral prayer service following at 4:00 P.M. Cremation will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bound Brook Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 641, Bound Brook, New Jersey 08805.
