John Ashley Woolley II, 85, died Thursday, October 30, 2014, in Denver, Colorado. Born June 15, 1929, in Deal Township, he was the son of John Ashley and Jacqueline C. Woolley. He resided in Middlesex for fifty-three years before moving to Denver last year. John served in the United States Air Force in the late 1940’s. He was a meteorologist who owned and operated the National Weather Corp., at Newark Airport, for forty years, retiring in 1997. He then worked as a paralegal for the Kevin Michels law firm, Stirling, for several years. He was a member of the American Meteorological Society and had been active in the Boy Scouts of America years ago. He had a passion for aviation and studying the weather which affected it. John was predeceased by his loving wife, Theresa Brill Woolley, who died May 16, 2008, and his daughter, Catherine A. Woolley, who died May 6, 2009. He is survived by his sons, John A. Woolley III, and wife Shelley of Denver, James Woolley and wife Kathleen of Southbury, Connecticut; his daughter, Marybeth Woolley of Orange Beach, Alabama, and his beloved granddaughters, Megan and Kaitlyn Woolley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 9:30 A.M. Saturday, November 8, at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Roman Catholic Church, Middlesex. Interment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway. There will be no viewing hours.
