Mrs. Joan M. (Flood) Sanislo, 89, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Phillipsburg, NJ. She was surrounded by her son Bob, daughter Cheryl, and son-in-law Kevin. Joan moved to Edison from Union City and graduated from New Brunswick High School. She lived in the Somerset section of Franklin Township before moving to Milltown 45 years ago. She was a pastor of several churches; she directed Bible Study; she was a Brownie, Girl Scout, and Cub Scout leader. Joan was trained for ordained ministry of the Gospel at Zarephath Bible Seminary and Heritage Bible Institute, after which she taught at both of these schools.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Emily and Vincent Flood, and her sister Barbara Shaffer. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence J. Sanislo. Joan and Larry celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on September 20th. She is also survived by her sister, Debra DeHaven; her children, Cheryl L. Brown (Kevin) of Brick, Joni Lynn Head (Charlie) of Springfield, Georgia, and Robert Sanislo (Ingrid) of Bloomsbury; her grandchildren, Emily, Taryn, Colleen, Lindsay, John-Patrick, Christiana, Kaleigh, Julianna, Alyssa, Brittany and Faith, as well as 21 great grandchildren with one on the way.
The memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM, Sunday, November 6th, 2022, at Georges Road BaptistChurch, 440 Church Lane in North Brunswick. Arrangements are in the care of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Georges Road Baptist Church.
