Jeremy S. Kopf

August 13, 1958 — November 17, 2023

August 13, 1958 – November 17, 2023.

Jerry was born in Ashville, North Carolina. He was adopted by Phyllis and Leonard Kopf a day later and spent his childhood growing up in Middlesex and then Bound Brook, NJ. He graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1976. He received his B.A. in Music Composition from Berkeley College of Music in Boston, MA in 1980. He married his wife of 43 years, Rose Fasano, that same year. Along with his love of music, Jerry loved driving, and in 1982, he graduated from New England Tractor Trailer Training School (NETTTS). He spent the next 30 years or so driving tractor trailers, hauling everything from garbage, lumber, liquified propane, junk mail, LTL goods, etc., everywhere from New Hampshire to Delaware. He was a great salesman and generated much revenue for the companies he worked for. He retired from driving tractor trailers in 2011. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Springer Soft-Tail on road trips with his friends for many years both before and after retirement.

Jerry always had a passion for music, especially Southern Rock and Blues. He and Rose went to shows as much as possible. He enjoyed playing and recording music, both covers and original pieces. He mainly played guitar, but was educated on many other instruments as well. He had a wonderful network of musicians that he enjoyed playing and composing music with. His passion and extensive knowledge of music are a tragic loss. In addition, Jerry would have made a great therapist. People loved talking with him. He would always try to help or even just listen. We used to refer to him as “The Mayor”, since everyone always remembered talking extensively with him everywhere he went. Finally, Jerry and Rose loved their dogs! They raised and trained German Shepherds from 1979 to the present, enjoying many litters of puppies and helping people choose and train their perfect pet.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Rose Kopf, brother Daniel, nephew Mathew, Monty the Python, and the five German Shepherds, Elvira, Cassiopeia, Melissa, Black Magic Woman, and Knight-Maire. He is predeceased by his nephew, William.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Jerry at a date to be determined.
