Jeanette Canonica

Jeanette Canonica, 75, passed away in the early morning hours of January 31, 2023. A New York native, Jeanette grew up in the Bronx before moving to Bergenfield, NJ. She worked as an office manager throughout her career, but her most rewarding accomplishments were related to her family. She was a proud mother to Joseph Raymond and Michael Andrew, and a loving grandmother to Joey, Nicky, Ava, Carmella, Madison, and Grace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Paul Canonica, who died exactly 22 years before her to the day.

Jeanette was a caring and generous person, very organized and very direct. True to the old saying, she didn’t suffer fools gladly…or at all. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and traveling. She is survived by her brothers and sisters: Ray, Chuck, and Al Baraniecki, Ann Levitski, and Denise Morgan; her children; her grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Gathering with the family will be Sunday, February 5, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. A prayer service will begin at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 6, 2023, at the funeral home. Jeanette will be laid to rest next to her husband at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway, immediately following.
