James A. Getlik, 59 of South Bound Brook passed away peacefully on November 19, 2023.
James was born on December 31, 1963 in Somerville, NJ to Joseph and Mary (nee Skirka) Getlik and grew up in South Bound Brook where he attended Bound Brook High School and later DeVry University. James worked for FedEx as a driver and enjoyed interacting with people he encountered during his workdays.
He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, NFL Raiders and NASCAR fan and enjoyed listening to his favorite band RUSH.
James belonged to both the Somerset and Bound Brook Moose Lodges where he made friends easily and bonded with the other members. James’ generous spirit and caring nature drew people to him and he was always happy to help others at their time of need.
James is predeceased by his father, Joseph and brother-in-law Joseph Pellicane.
James is survived by his beloved mother Mary, his daughter, Kristyn Getlik (partner Kenneth Titus and grandson on the way), his siblings – Karen Pellicane and Michael Getlik (Susan). He is also survived by his nephews – Matthew Pellicane (fiancée Jenny Cifuentes); Daniel Getlik (fiancée Brittney Thomas) as well as his spouse, Donna Nicholls and his step-children, Nicole, Alex and Jessica Rauch and three step-grandchildren.
James’ spirit and friendship will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Friends and family may visit the Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook, NJ on Wednesday, November 29th, 2023 between the hours of 5 and 8 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, November 30th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church in South Bound Brook with burial to follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
