Innocenzo Mauro passed away unexpectedly at St. Joseph's University Medical Center on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 with his family by his side. Innocenzo, known as John by family and friends, was born in San Donato de Ninea, Italy on July 26, 1951. His family immigrated to the United States in January of 1955 and settled in Bound Brook, NJ where John lived for the rest of his life. John graduated Bound Brook High School in 1969 and Missouri Valley College in 1973. Upon graduation, he returned to Bound Brook and started his career at Somerset Hospital, where he met his future wife, Robin, whom he married in 1977. John then began a successful 25 year career in sales, ending as a Regional Sales Director for Hewlett Packard. John was a devoted father to his sons, Anthony and Michael. He enjoyed coaching their Little League teams, being a life mentor and spending quality time with them. John was an avid gardener and took great pride in maintaining his pristine home. John was well known in the community, most of all for his afternoon rides with his best friend, Tucker. John was pre-deceased by his beloved parents, Assunta Panebianco Mauro and Francesco Mauro. John was also predeceased most recently by his beloved sister, Maria (Molly) Duska, and previously by his brothers-in-law, Joseph Civitano and Frankie Waller. He is is survived by and will be eternally missed by his wife of 41 years, Robin and his sons, Anthony and Michael. Also surviving are his sisters, Lena Mauro Civitano and Frances Mauro Waller, his brother-in-law Michael Duska, his sister-in-law Karen Zimmerman and her husband Keith Holdsworth and his sister-in-law, Betsy Zimmerman and her husband Glenn Sinko. John will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews: Kristen Duska, Ashley Duska Vellucci and her husband Rich, Brian Spilatro and his fiancee Cassondra Weaver, Jessie Waller. Matthew Sinko Michael Sinko and Frank James Waller, his wife Dezaree and their children Trent and Frankie. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 29, 2018 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 pm at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. Funeral services will begin 9:00 am Friday, November 30, 2018 from the funeral followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church in Bound Brook. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
