Helen Sikora

Helen Mary Sikora, 89, died Wednesday, February 10, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerset. Born in Dickson City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Sylvester and Mary [Cheresko] Dacuk. Helen was a devout communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman catholic Church, Bound Brook, where she was an active member of the Altar Rosary Society, a long time volunteer at the parish bingo, and a founding member of the church’s Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. She was devoted to her neighbors, friends, and family. She loved spending time with them - talking, and playing cards and games. She was known for her prolific crocheting. Most recently she enjoyed spending time with her new found friends, twice a week, at the Adult Day Center of Somerset County. Helen was known as Mom or Grandma to many – especially Carol, Gary, Grant, Mike, Angela, Chrissy, Patty, Bill, Teresa, and her “Hong Kong” family. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband of forty-nine years, Walter Sikora, Sr., brother, Zygmunt Dacuk, and sister, Nancy Murawski. She leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her children, Helen Kuchnicki of Robbinsville; Walter Sikora Jr., and his wife, Karen, of Illinois, Christine Hardgrove and her husband, Tim, of South Bound Brook, Ann Sikora of Bound Brook; her grandchildren, Michelle(Lawrence) Clevenger, Edmund Kuchnicki, Daniel (Kate) Hardgrove, Rebecca (Kelly) Embley, Stephanie (Joshua) Cornelius, Cassandra (Matt) Bowles, Matthew (Jessica) Giggengrove; her great grandchildren, Andria, Courtney, Edmund, Richard, Matthew, Henry, Miles, and Abbie; her brother, Stanley Dacuk; as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin 8:45 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church, Bound Brook. Burial will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M.
