Helen Schenck

Helen Schenck, 90 died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Somerset. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of Louis and Helen (Zawatski) Aftanski. Helen was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother and a faithful communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Robert Sr. in 2004 and her son Richard in 2012. She is survived by her son Robert Jr. and his wife, Pam of Florida; her daughter, Joyce and husband, Richie Yannetta of Delaware; eight grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Gathering will be 7:00 - 9:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2020 at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. Services will be private. Memorial donations in Helen's name may be made to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org. We ask that face masks be worn while visiting, to be mindful of physical distancing guidelines, and for visitors to minimize time spent indoors to allow everyone a chance to pay their respects.
