Heinrich Wagner

Heinrich “Henry” Wagner, 83, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at Bridgeway Care and Rehab Center, Bridgewater. Born June 15, 1930, in Weissenburg, Germany, he was the son of Heinrich and Marie Hafner Wagner. He came to the US in 1953, settling in Middlesex. Henry retired in 1993 as a master mechanic at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Linden, after 37 years with the company. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a 60 year member of Raritan Valley Lodge No. 46, F. & A. M., Somerville, serving as Worshipful Master in 1971. He loved doing crossword puzzles. Henry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maria Schwarz Wagner, his sister-in-law, Lisa Bryant of Dayton, OH; his Nephew, Peter (Sue Ann) Hassler of Mechanicsburg, PA; his niece, Monika Hassler of Middlesex; his nieces Marylou and Linda of Dayton, OH; many loving great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 4, at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. Cremation will be private. Visiting will be from 12:00 noon until the funeral, with a Masonic Funeral Service at 1:30 P.M. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101—9908.
