Gudruna Janusauskas

Gudruna Janusauskas, 86, died Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital - Somerset. Born in Latvia, Gudruna and her family fled the country during the German occupation, settling in a refugee camp in Austria, before moving to Venezuela. While in Venezuela, she married Victor Janusauskas and they had their daughter Nora. The family, including Gudruna's grandmother and mother emigrated to the United States in 1962, settling in Bound Brook in 1965. She worked for GOW-MAC Industrial Company in Bethlehem for 11 years, before retiring in 2004. Gudruna was a loving, quiet woman who loved reading and spoke four languages. Gudruna was predeceased by Victor, in 2005. She is survived by her daughter, Nora Janusauskas of Bound Brook and many dear friends. Gathering will be 2:00 PM, Friday, July 7th, with a funeral service beginning at 3:00 PM at Hagan- Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook. Cremation will be private.
