Gaetano Lombardi

Gaetano Lombardi, 82, died Monday, June 9, 2014, at his home. Born in Boiano, Italy, he moved to Bound Brook in 1968. While in Italy he served in the army and was one of many who donated blood necessary for the transfusions needed by Pope Pius XII. He was a communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. He enjoyed his family and making home made wine. Mr. Lombardi was predeceased by his beloved wife, Giovanna Tammaro Lombardi in 2006. He is survived by his son, Carmine of Bound Brook, his daughters Maria Fountain of Dunellen and Fiorella Wilkins of Mt. Laurel, his brothers, Mario of Bound Brook and Michael of Branchburg and his grandchildren, Erin, Cody, Shawn and Hannah. Funeral services will begin at 8:45 AM Friday, June 13, followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church. Entombment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge. Visitation will be Thursday, 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
