Dr. Fredric Tapper passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014, in his home, surrounded by his family. Fred was born in Philadelphia to Shirley Ostrum and Joseph Tapper on July 8, 1951. He graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He had a family practice in New Jersey for a number of years, and was a medical consultant. After discovering a passion for natural health he became co-owner of Summit Health Shoppe. Fred was a natural musician, avid gardener, and superb cook. He was known for his eclectic tastes, great sense of humor, and generous spirit. He had a great love of the beach and sun as evidenced by his enviable tan. He had a capacity for finding solace in simplicity and present-mindedness, providing his family and friends with comfort and laughter as he continued to live with glioblastoma, from which he eventually passed. He is survived by his wife, Susan Murray Tapper; his sons, Keith, Eric, David and spouse Josh.; his brother, Marc, and sister, Leslie. He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew. A memorial service will be held 10:15 A.M Friday, September 12, at Temple Har Shalom, Warren, followed by a 12:15 P.M. Memorial Mass at Our Lady of the Mount Church, Warren. Fred's family would be delighted to have everyone attend both. All are welcome to the Tapper residence thereafter. In lieu of flowers kindly make a donation to a charitable organization of your choice. Arrangements are by Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook.
