Frank Alexander Pederson, 94, of Bridgewater, NJ passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022. His beloved wife, Helen, passed away 4 months prior. Frank, better known as ‘Pete’, was born and raised in Bound Brook, NJ. He graduated from Bound Brook High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Rider College in Trenton, NJ. A proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean War, Frank liked to tell the story of how his typing skills landed him a desk job in the Bureau of Naval Personnel in Washington, DC. Frank and his mother Maude founded Pederson’s Young World in Bound Brook, NJ. The store was in business for 34 years and grew to include a Boy’s Shop and Deb Shop. Frank enjoyed running into his former customers, even last month while out to dinner at the Chimney Rock. Frank loved spending time at the beach where he met the love of his life, Helen Darrow. They married in 1955 and resided in Bridgewater until they downsized and moved to Hillsborough in 2016. Just over a year ago, they moved back to Bridgewater. Frank enjoyed traveling, fishing, poker games with friends, the Giants, his beach house, a good Martini and spending time with family.
Frank is survived by son Dwight (Barbara); daughters Patricia Nobbs (Peter) and Carolyn Pritchard (Robert); 3 grandchildren Robert Pritchard (fiancé Meagan Tuchler), Kenneth Pritchard and Andrea Pederson; brother James Pederson (Carol); nurse Marta, who he looked forward to seeing each day and dramatically improved his quality of life over the last 5 months. Frank is predeceased by his wife Helen; parents Frank and Maude Pederson; brother Kenneth.
