Frank Caruso

December 2, 1939 — June 17, 2024

Frank Caruso 84 passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2024 at home surrounded by his family after a 2 year hard fought fight with cancer.

Born in the town of Torchiati, province of Avellino, Italy to the late Giovanni and Margherita Caruso (me Mirabile), He immigrated to the United States with his brother Ferdinando in 1958 to join his father and two sisters. Just one day after settling in Raritan, New Jersey, Frank went to work managing the looms at American Velour in Bound Brook and after 5 years he was proud to become an US citizen.

In 1959 he met the love of his life Licia Marini and the two wed in 1961. They lived in Bound Brook before moving to Bridgewater to raise their daughter Marguerite. After leaving American Velour and working various jobs Frank went on to be a machine mechanic for Devro /Nitta Casings and dedicated 45 years of hard work before his well deserved retirement in 2014. He received acknowledgement awards for his contributions in improved manufacturing processes and perfect attendance, and served as the union president of the local chapter of Workers United for 10 years before his retirement.

Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and upholding generational traditions from his Italian heritage. He was a great winemaker and continued making wine for over 20 years, sharing his expertise and knowledge with the next generation of family. In his retirement he loved making homemade pizza, zeppoli and St. Joseph pastries and always strived to make the perfect "pan di spagna". But mostly, he loved to share his creations with his entire family.

He is predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Margherita Caruso, brothers, Ferdinando and Antonio Caruso, sister Angelina Iannone and brother-in-laws Alfonso Russo and Cipriano Maraspin.
