Francis Castano

Frank A. Castano, 91, died Monday, September 15, 2014, at the Bound Brook home where he was born. Born on January 1, 1923, to Alfred and Rosie Capolupo Castano, he was a lifelong borough resident. He graduated from Bound Brook High School, Class of 1942, and was a United States Army veteran of World War II, where he saw action in Germany. Frank worked for Art Color, Dunellen, for twenty-three years. He then worked for Mack Truck, Bridgewater, for twenty years. After that he was a deliveryman for America’s Florist, Bound Brook, retiring 2007. He was a Life Member of Bound Brook Lodge No. 1388, B.P.O. Elks. He was a avid bowler and horse-racing fan. Frank was devoted to his family. He was well known by the citizens of Bound Brook and will be sadly missed by his family and all who knew him. Frank was predeceased by his wife of forty-six years, Helene Zarnowski Castano, who died in 1992, his granddaughter, Julia, who died in 1994, and his brother, Daniel Castano, who died 2006. He is survived by his son, John F. Castano of Bound Brook; his brother, Alfred “Mousie” Castano, Jr., of Bridgewater; his grandchildren, Michael and Danielle, and his beloved great-grandchildren, Tyler and Natalie. Funeral Services will be 9:15 A.M. Friday, September 19, at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Friends will be received at the funeral home 5:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery.
