Freddy Caruso, 71 died, Monday, December 23, 2013 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Born in Avellino, Italy, he was the son of Giovanni and Margarita (Mirabile) Caruso. Freddy moved to America in 1958. He met and married Anna, and together they settled in Bound Brook, where they raised their two sons. He was a soccer fan and he played well into his 30’s for the Bound Brook Italian American Sports Club. He was known for his sense of humor and joking manner. His love and affection for his family and friends was expressed through his humor. He was a loving father and nonno. He was the owner of George’s Market in Raritan for over 35 years and was working as a butcher in ShopRite of Bound Brook for the past 15 years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Anna, his sons, Joseph (Caterina), Middlesex and Johnny, Union. His grandchildren, Olivia, Joseph and Sofia; his siblings, Frank, Bridgewater, Anthony, Bound Brook, Claud, Green Brook, Angelina Iannone, Raritan, Filomena Russo, Bridgewater and Raphael Zedney, Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will begin 9:15 AM, Friday, December 27, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church. Entombment will be at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater. Visitation will be Thursday, from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
