Felix Barbati

Felix “Phil” Barbati, Jr.,87, died peacefully Friday, December 25, 2015, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerville. Born in Bound Brook, he was the son of Felix Mario Barbati, Sr., and Donata Barbati-Patullo. Phil was a lifelong resident of Bound Brook. He graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1947, and was Class President. He worked for Johnson & Johnson and Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Somerville for over twenty years, before retiring in 1983. He was an avid New York Giants football and New York Yankees baseball fan, and had coached baseball in earlier years. He enjoyed the summers at his beach house in Barnegat, and spending time with his grandchildren. Phil was predeceased by his sister, Josephine Haake, and brothers, Salvatino Barbati and Anthony Patullo. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Joan; his daughters, Stephanie Storch and her husband Eugene, and Diana Uzzolino and her husband Gregory; his son, Brian; his sister, Teresa Maiullo, and his beloved grandchildren, Nicole and Christopher Storch. Funeral Services will be 8:45 A.M. Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at the funeral home, followed by a 9:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Burial will be at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. Visitation will be Tuesday, 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
