Ethel Irene Csontos, 88, died Sunday, February 8, 2015, at home. Born November 26, 1926, in Mather, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of John and Julie Simko. She came to New Jersey at age fifteen, settling in South Bound Brook. During World War II, she worked as a welder, build landing craft for tanks (LST’s or Landing Ships Tank). In the years after the war, she worked for RCA, Bridgewater, for thirty years as a laboratory technician, retiring in 1986, at age sixty. She made her husband retire, too, and together they traveled the country, driving to Alaska, Las Vegas, and California, among other destinations, for twenty years. She was a member of the South Bound Brook Seniors. Ethel was predeceased by her son, Donald Csontos, who died in 2008. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Daniel Csontos; her daughter, Debbie (Ron) Kwiatkowski of Branchburg; her grandchildren, Jessica (Steve) Skakum, Ronnie Kwiatkowski, Daniel Csontos, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Hannah, Madison, Kendall, and Jack. Visiting will be at the funeral home, 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 11, and 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 Noon Thursday, February 12, with the funeral service at Noon. Cremation will be private.
