Emma Ambrose

Emma Fiedler Ambrose (Peggy), 93, died Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Independence Manor of Hunterdon in Flemington. Born in Raritan, she lived most of her life in Bound Brook, moving back to Raritan where she lived for several years before moving to Flemington three years ago. She was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, class of 1939 and of The Somerset Hospital Nursing School in Somerville, class of 1942. She worked at Somerset Hospital for many years before working at Runnels Specialized Hospital in Watchung before retiring in 1975. She enjoyed all sports and was an animal lover. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her homemade apple and pumpkin pies. Mrs. Ambrose was predeceased by her grandson, Jaymus Spering. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Spering of Frenchtown, two sons, Robert Ambrose of Lavallette and Raymond Ambrose of Forked River, five grandchildren, Drew Ambrose, Jeremy Spering, Amanda Spering, Jordan Ambrose and Robert Ambrose III, a great-grandson, Calvin Spering and her sister, Charlotte Majeski of Middlesex. Visiting will be from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday, September 25, 2014 with funeral services at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway.
