Emily Fabiano

Emily Sutkowski Fabiano died peacefully, with loved ones at her side, Monday, December 29, 2014, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, Somerville. Born August 10, 1940, in Perth Amboy, she was the daughter of Hipolit and Joanna Drewnoska Sutkowski. Emily attended St. Stephen’s Catholic Elementary School, and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Perth Amboy, Class of 1958. She received her Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education from the College of New Jersey (formerly Trenton State College), Class of 1962. She received her Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Library Science from Rutgers University. She was member of the University Libraries' Faculty, and served as a Head of Reference at Alexander Library and Education Librarian for many years. Her publications focused on managing educational measurement-related resources in academic libraries. She also served for several years as Secretary of the Retired Faculty Association of Rutgers University, and as Vice President for the Bound Brook Library Board of Trustees. She was a devoted Communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, Middlesex, where she was very active in the Lazarus Ministry. She had many interests, including animal rights, traveling, and line dancing. Emily was predeceased by her loving parents, her devoted husband, Joseph Fabiano, and her stepson, Brian Fabiano. She will be greatly missed by all who survive her, including her sister, Felicia Sutkowski, her fiancé, Robert Maryott, her four stepchildren, thirteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many extended family and friends. Funeral services will be 9:15 A.M. Monday, January 5, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church. Cremation will be private. Friends will be received at the funeral home 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to Lost Paws Animal Rescue, P.O.
