Elizabeth A. Thomas, 94, died ., Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013, at Brakeley Park Center, Phillipsburg. Born Jan. 16, 1919, in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Peter C. and Monica Hartner Campbell. She lived in Martinsville for 58 years, moving to Bridgewater in 2005, and Phillipsburg in 2011. Mrs. Thomas worked as an accountant for the family business, Thomas Trucking and Storage, Middlesex, for many years. She was a member of the Martinsville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer for the Martinsville branch of the Somerset County Library, in the Swim Program for Seniors at the Bridgewater YMCA, and a former Cub Scout Den Mother. A Communicant of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Martinsville, she was active in the Altar Rosary Society, FISH, and taught CCD classes. Mrs. Thomas was predeceased by her husband, Fred Thomas, Jr., in 1990, and her brother, James Campbell, who died in 1998. She is survived by her son, David W. (Pamela) Thomas of Phillipsburg; her grandchildren, Sarah (Keith) Reichard, Megan Thomas, Todd Thomas, Emily Thomas; her beloved great-grandchildren, Leah and Keith, Jr.; her brother, William P. (Dee) Campbell of Southampton, and her sister, Marie Clark of Alexandria, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament will be 10:00 A.M. Thu., Oct.. 17. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Park, No. Brunswick. Friends will be received at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave. Bound Brook, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Martinsville Fire Department, Martinsville, NJ 08836.
