Elias Moncayo

Elias Eduardo Moncayo, 84, died Monday, September 8, 2014, at Overlook Hospital, Summit. Born in Ibarra Ecuador, he came to the United States in 1988, settling in Bernardsville. He moved to Warren in 1994. While in Ecuador, he was a taxi driver. After moving to the United States, he worked for the Minuteman Restaurant in Morristown, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed dancing, playing cards, and playing pool. Mr. Moncayo was predeceased by his wife, Rita Parco Moncayo, in 1991. He is survived by his daughters, Cira Maritza Arias with whom he lived, Maria Magdalena Moncayo of Hazlet, Laura Nidia Moncayo-Parco and Eloisa A. Cruz of Barrington, Eufemia Moncayo-Parco of Providence, Rhode Island; his brother, Luis Eduardo Moncayo of Ecuador; sixteen grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 10, at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service at 7:30 P.M., during the viewing. Cremation was private.
