Eleanor J. Toeltl

Eleanor Toeltl, 92, of Middlesex Borough, New Jersey passed away July 15, 2024.

Born May 29, 1932 in Plainfield, New Jersey as Eleanor Pfluegel, she was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine Pfluegel.

Having lived in Middlesex her entire life Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church where she married Joseph, her husband who predeceased her.

She is survived by her daughter Lynda and her husband John and son David and his wife Nancy. Also surviving are granddaughters Karen and her husband Jason, Kristina and her husband Paul, Crystal and her husband Peter, and Nicole. Eleanor had eight greatgrandchildren, Rebecca, James, Robert, Erik, Owen, Kaylee, Caden, Kinsley and one on the way. Everyone in the family knew her as Nana since the birth of her first grandchild.

Eleanor graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1950. She enjoyed working as an office manager at the International Looseleaf Company in Middlesex for many years but she was primarily a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Whenever possible, Eleanor enjoyed spending summer weeks visiting with her aunts Wilhelmina and Agnes and other relatives and friends in Munich, Germany and certainly enjoyed the beer, the German folk music and the culture in general.

Eleanor was also a member of the Sangerhalle in North Plainfield and the Deutscher Club of Clark. She was an avid walker where she could meet many folks along the way and also enjoyed the garden harvest she and her husband planted. She enjoyed exploring garage and estate sales. She was also actively involved in her husband’s hobby of raising show rabbits and attending rabbit shows. Yet, the thing she loved the most was her family and she cherished raising her own children, babysitting her grandchildren and spending time with her greatgrandchildren.

Friends and family are welcome to gather on Sunday, July 21st, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook.

Entombment and a committal service will be held on Monday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Cemetery, 899 Lincoln Avenue, Piscataway.

All services are under the supervision and care of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home.
