Elaine Nagy

Elaine Nagy, 79, died Thursday, March 9, 2023, at her home in Somerset. Born in Somerville, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary (Florek) Smith. Elaine lived in Piscataway for several years before moving to Franklin Township where she settled down to raise her family. Elaine met her husband, Joseph, at a dance at Rutgers University. They were married for 56 years. She loved flowers and gardening. Her walkway was beautifully lined with roses and peonies. Elaine also enjoyed canning her homegrown peaches, pears, vegetables and making applesauce.

Elaine is survived by her husband Joseph; daughter Diana Huang and her husband George; son Joseph Jr.; her sister Joan Marshall; nieces Sandra Smith and her husband James and Donna Friedman and her husband Steve; and her nephew David Marshall.

Gathering with the family will be 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday, March 20, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook. The prayer service will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, 321 Cokesbury Road, Lebanon.
