Dorothy E Golfin

Dorothy E. Golfin, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at CareOne – Somerset Valley. Born at RD1 in Bound Brook, she was the daughter of Otto and Elizabeth (Applegate) Maehr. Dorothy was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, class of 1951. She grew up in Possumtown, before moving to Somerset in 1952, then settling on Gates Road in October of 1953. She was a long time member of Middlebush Reformed Church where she served on the Women’s Guild and also worked in just about everything the church did. The Living Nativity was favorite. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2007. She leaves behind her daughter Elizabeth Klein and her son James; her brother Robert Maehr and his wife Brenda; her niece Tamara Maehr and her nephew Bobby Maehr.

Gathering with the family will be 6:00 – 9:00 PM, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, NJ 08805. Services will begin 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 3rd at the funeral home, with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial at Bound Brook Cemetery will follow. Memorial donations in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Middlebush Reformed Church Living Memorial Fund, 1 South Middlebush Road, Somerset, NJ 08873.
