Dorothy Diehl

Dorothy Diehl, 89, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at the New Jersey Eastern Star Home in Bridgewater. Born in Plainfield, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Woytovich) Mason. Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Bound Brook and a dedicated mother to her children. She was an avid coin and stamp collector, and an exceptional bowler, receiving many trophies while on her bowling league. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook and a member of the church choir. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Jacob Diehl in 2012 and her brother, John J. Mason, Jr. in 2011. She leaves behind her loving children, Wayne Diehl and his wife, Sandy Piason of Atco, NJ; Dennis Diehl and his wife, Crystal of Texas; Barbara Diehl and her husband, Steve Downey of Minnesota; and Marianne Begosh, and her husband, Bill of North Brunswick; and her 11 beloved grandchildren Gabrielle, Rachel, Nicole, J.R., Daniel, Chad, Lisa, Melinda, Melissa, Cassandra, and Jacob. Funeral services will begin 9:15 AM, Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook. Burial will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society .
