Dorothy Barber

Dorothy C. Barber, 90, died Tuesday, July 21, 2015, at home. Born March 9, 1925, in Brentwood, Long Island, she was the daughter of Harry and Cecelia Mullin Bledsoe. She had resided in Bridgewater for over forty years. Dorothy was a Buyer for Bamberger’s Department Store, where she worked for over forty years, traveling the world to purchase for the company. After retirement she became a licensed real estate agent and worked for several area firms, lastly Century 21, in Pluckemin, becoming one of their top agents. She was a Past President of the Bridgewater Women’s Club. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Nicholas J. Barber; her sister, Gerry Slattery and husband Ray of Jupiter, Florida; her two step-sisters, Betty Green and Marjorie Brostrom, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 9:15 A.M. Friday, July 24, at the funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Martinsville. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bridgewater. Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday, 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
