Doris Ann Dylewski

September 25, 1952 — February 17, 2024

Doris Dylewski, 71, a compassionate and dedicated registered nurse, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She leaves behind a legacy of love, care, and selflessness that touched the lives of all her patients and those who knew her.

Born and raised in Bound Brook, Doris attended Immaculata High School and St. Mary's Grammar School, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to service and compassion. She pursued her passion for nursing at Gwynedd Mercy University in Pennsylvania, where she received her nursing associate degree, honing her skills and developing her innate ability to provide comfort and care to those in need.

Doris was a devout churchgoer at St. Mary of Czestochowa in Bound Brook, finding solace and strength in her faith. She cherished her time spent visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Czestochowa in Pennsylvania, often accompanied by her beloved cousins Madeline and Evie.

Outside of her nursing career, Doris found joy in simple pleasures. She had a green thumb and delighted in tending to her garden, nurturing beautiful flowers that bloomed under her care. She also enjoyed bus trips with local senior groups, relishing in special events such as theater productions and musicals in New Jersey and New York City.

Doris had a zest for travel and exploration, particularly enjoying trips to California destinations like Carmel, San Francisco, Napa Valley, and Lake Tahoe. She shared these adventures with her brother Joe and his wife Laurie, creating cherished memories together.

Doris was a proud member of both the National Audubon Society and the Sierra Club, actively contributing to conservation efforts and raising awareness about the importance of preserving our natural world.

Above all, Doris was a devoted daughter, especially in her mother Bernardine's elderly years. She provided unwavering support and care, ensuring her mother's comfort and well-being until the very end.

A graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Bound Brook Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook.
