Dora Gunther

Dora Levering Gunther, 83, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, at home. Born February 21, 1930, in Somerville, she was the daughter of William and Mary Ford Van Hoesen. Residing in several towns in the area, she lived most of her life in Bound Brook. Dora retired in 2006 as a technician for the Colgate - Palmolive Co., Somerset, after twenty years of service to the company. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed gardening. Dora was predeceased by her first husband, Siegfried Levering, who died in 1969. She is survived by her sons, William C. Levering of Liberty, SC, Robert W. (Joan) Levering of Dickson, TN, Albert J. (Barbara) Levering of Flemington; her brothers, Arthur Van Hoesen of Phillipsburg, Robert Van Hoesen of Bound Brook; her sisters, Catherine Bartlett of Manville, Alice Tulin of Maine; her beloved grandchildren, Elizabeth, Carly Mae, Albert, Jonathan, and a host of cousins, nephews and nieces. Friends will be received at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. Monday, Oct. 14, with the funeral service at 7:30 P.M., during the course of the visiting. Cremation will be private.
