Dolores Fratantuono

Dolores Rose Fratantuono, 87, passed away at home on Saturday, December 10, 2016, after a long illness. Born September 20, 1929, in the same house on Vosseller Avenue, Bound Brook, as her father, she was daughter of Joseph and Josephine [Januzzi] Garry. A lifelong resident of Bound Brook, Dolores lived on Fisher Avenue, John Street, Mountain Avenue, and finally in the home at Grove Avenue, where she stayed for sixty-three years. She was a Communicant of St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook, and a retiree from the Baker & Taylor Corporation, Bridgewater. An avid pianist, she took lessons for eight years and was especially fond of composer Frederic Chopin. She participated in piano recitals, the last one on June 1, 1945, where she played “The Bells of St. Mary.” She was a passionate cat lover. Dolores was the widow of Anthony Fratantuono, Sr., whom she married in 1948. She is survived by her sister, Lorraine Romano of Middlesex, who visited her every day during her illness; her daughter, Phyllis (Daniel) Picasso of Hillborough; her son, Anthony Fratantuono, Jr., of Annandale; her grandson, Lee, and many other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Florence Nyumu form the Griswold Agency, who took care of Dolores for five years. Funeral services will be 9:30 A.M. Wednesday, December 14, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery.
