Dea Naldi, nee Doganieri, 95,died peacefully at Jersey Shore Medical Center. Dea was born in Spinete, Italy, June 12, 1921. She came to America in December, 1929 on the famous ocean liner, Conte Bianca Mano , with her mother, Gemma, and brother, Tony, to join her father, Michael, in Bound Brook. Living in Bound Brook through her childhood, she met the love of her life, Edward Naldi. They married in 1940 in St. Mary’s Church, and celebrated sixty-four years of marriage until his death in 2004. They lived in Plainfield, Whitehouse, Bound Brook, and Middlesex, and winter vacationed in Lake Worth, Florida. They had two sons, Ronald and Terry. Dea worked many jobs. She was a representative for World Book Encyclopedia and Avon, a clerk with American Cyanamid, and a teller at Franklin State Bank. She was one of the world’s great cooks. Nonni lady’s macaroni sauce, her pizza, and countless other creations have become family legend. Dea was predeceased by her husband, Edward, her parents, Gemma and Michael, and brother, Tony. She will be remembered with joy and love by her family: son, Ronald, and most loving and supportive daughter in law, Carlene; son, Terry; brother and sister in law, Bruno and Sally Doganieri; beloved granddaughters, Ronene, Rebecca, and Melissa, and their husbands, John, Joseph, and Brett, and her adored great grandchildren, Sean, Joshua, David, Evan, Maia, and Nina, who will cherish her memory. The family would also like to thank Francis Asbury Methodist Home, Ocean Grove, for their loving care and support. Funeral services will begin 9:15 A.M. Friday, June 24, at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Friends will be received at the funeral home, 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Thursday. Burial will be at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
