David Haigh

David M. Haigh, 80, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Robert wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville, surrounded by his family. Born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Young) Haigh. David moved to New Jersey in 1957, and lived in Middlesex since 1968. He was an United States Air Force veteran stationed in Japan during peacetime. He worked for Brenntag in New Brunswick as an Operations Manager before retiring in 1989. He then worked part time for Joy Auto Parts in Green Brook. He was actively involved with the Middlesex Boy Scouts when his sons were younger. He enjoyed boating, surf fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. David was predeceased by his brothers, Reese Haigh and William Young. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Christina, his children, Donna Haigh, and her husband, Paul Strum of Bound Brook, David Haigh, and his wife, Kathleen of Bridgewater, Jean – Marie Coletta, and her husband, Joseph of Green Brook, Gregory Haigh of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, his sister-in-law, Dorothy Haigh of Plymouth, Pennsylvania, and his beloved grandchildren, Alyson and Brian Coletta, Kristina, Kyle, and Joseph Haigh, and Ryan Strum, as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends will gather 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. on Friday, May 12, 2017, and 1:00 - 2:30 P.M. Saturday, May 13, with funeral services beginning at 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private. Donations may be made to the National Multiple Schlerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NewYork 10163 (www.nationalmssociety.org), or a charity of your choice.
