David Freedland, 65, died too soon on Sunday, December 1, 2019. He will be missed by all who knew him. Dave helped everyone he cared about, and he cared about everyone he met. He dedicated his life to his family and his family of friends. Born in New Brunswick, David was the son of Theodore and Paula (Konigsberg) Freedland. David grew up in Middlesex and graduated from Middlesex High School and Rutgers University, where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He was the owner and heart of Hospi-Tel in East Orange for over 40 years where he truly cared for each employee as family and did all that he could for each of them, personally and professionally. David and his wife, Donna, met as teenagers at the Bound Brook Jewish Community Center, and spent the next 50 + years growing together. David loved brain teasers, crosswords, watching game shows, especially Jeopardy. He loved playing pinochle or poker, pool or golf with his friends and family. He loved singing out loud to all kinds of music and hearing and telling jokes. He loved sports, especially the The Giants and the Yankees, and tailgating with his family and “Giants family”. He loved scrambling, hiking, planning trips and taking adventures to explore different areas with his wife and greatest love of all, Donna. He was a loving husband, devoted father and dedicated friend. His strength, patience and positivity will forever be unmatched and always strived for. He kept his sense of humor and hope alive until the very end, once again showing everyone what can be accomplished with hope, faith, laughter and the willingness to press on. David is survived by Donna, his loving wife of 45 years; his son Trevor Freedland; his daughter, Rachael Freedland; his brother, Joseph Freedland and his grand puppies and kitties. A graveside service will be 12:30 PM, on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Washington Cemetery, 104 Deans Rhode Hall Rd, North Brunswick Township, NJ 08902. Memorial donations can be made to David’s Dream & Believe Cancer Foundation on Long Beach Island (www.davidsdreamandbelieve.org). An organization that helps local families. Arrangements are by Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, Bound Brook
