Daniel Salvatore

Daniel F. Salvatore, Sr., 87, died peacefully Monday, February 15, 2016, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset. Born in Bound Brook, he was a lifelong resident, graduating from Bound Brook High School in 1947. He worked as a State Farm insurance agent for thirty-four years before retiring several years ago. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook, a member of the Bound Brook Elks, the Knights of Columbus, and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Society where he enjoyed cooking for their Friday night dinners and the many camping trips for fathers and sons. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, the racetrack, and rooting for the New York Yankees Daniel is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Shelby Porter Salvatore, two sons, Daniel, and his wife, Sandra Salvatore of Green Brook, and David Salvatore of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a daughter, Dawn, and her husband, Mark Fallet of Buchanan, Georgia, as well as his five grandchildren, Erik, Nicole, Joshua, Samantha, and Jakob, and his great-grandson, Lucas. Funeral services will begin at 10:45 A.M. Friday, February 19, 2016, at the funeral home, followed by an 11:30 A.M. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook. Burial will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday, from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
