Charles “Charlie” Daniel Tarantino, 77, died quietly at home after a courageous battle with a devastating illness. Born October 24, 1937, in New Brunswick, he was the son of William and Marjorie [Basick] Tarantino. He resided in Bound Brook from 1969 until moving to Hellertown in 2003. Charlie worked as an A1 electrician for Panel - Oven Engineering, South Plainfield, retiring after 40 years with the company. He coached Bound Brook Missy League Softball. He was a member of the Bound Brook Rescue Squad. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Bound Brook. Charlie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, friend, and companion. He never missed a sports event in which his daughters were involved. He will be forever loved and missed. Charlie was predeceased by his loving wife of forty - six years, Lucille Elizabeth Tarantino, who died in 2005. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ann Tarantino and Cheryl Tarantino Cipollini; son-in-law Gary Cipollini; fiancé Carol Cullen, brother-in-law Anthony Torlish (brother in heart and soul) and wife Joyce; sister-in-law Linda and husband Anthony Ciccotelli; brother William Tarantino, and grandchildren Justin and wife Lyn Cipollini, Jesse Cipollini, and Melissa Cipollini. Funeral services will be 9:45 A.M. Tuesday, February 24, at the funeral Home, followed by a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church. Entombment will be at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
