Carmine Pugliese Sr., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Laurel Circle in Bridgewater. Born in Frigento, Italy, Carmine was the oldest son of Rocco and Rosina (Pomponio) Pugliese. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1952, settling in Raritan. While in high school, Carmine began dating JoAnne Savage and eventually they married and settled in Bound Brook. Carmine was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was a member of the Mount Carmel Society. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Carmine was predeceased by his brothers Vito and Michael. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, JoAnne; his daughter Roseanne Dudine and her husband, Bill of Brooklyn; daughter Laura Hambrick of Hillsborough; and son Carmine Pugliese Jr. and his wife Michelle of Wayne; his grandsons Billy, Vincent, Andrew, James, Jake and his wife Nicole; his brother Mario of Delaware; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gathering with the family will be 4:00 – 8:00 PM, Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave. Bound Brook. The funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway will follow.
