Carmen Ruscetta

BOUND BROOK-Carmen Joseph Ruscetta, age 90 of Bound Brook passed away on June 10, 2018, at home with his loving family by his side.Born in Bound Brook on March 15, 1928. He was a lifelong resident and a graduate of Bound Brook High School Class of 1948.Carmen worked for Union Carbide for 46 years retiring in 1991. It was there he met the love of his life, Bernice Chinchar Ruscetta. They were married for 50 years prior to her passing December 2001. Carmen was a life member of the Bound Brook Fire Department, Watchung Company #3 for 59 years. He served as Fire Chief in 1972. He was a member of the Bound Brook Relief Association, Bound Brook Fire Chiefs’ Association, and the Somerset County Firemen’s Association. Carmen loved camping, fishing, crabbing and hunting. Above all, he loved family gatherings and dinners, especially fish dinners on Friday nights.Carmen is predeceased by his mother and father, Serafino “Sam” and Lucy (Natalizio) Ruscetta, his wife Bernice, and brothers Nicholas and Michael. To treasure his memory are daughters Marie (Roger) Malone, Laura (Keith) Davies, Paula (Edward) Machala, and son Thomas (Claudine) Ruscetta. The light of his life was his Grandchildren Patrick (Theresa) and Kelly Malone, Matthew (Colleen) and Peter Machala, Kimberly (Brendan) Daley, Sarah and Ian Davies, and Morgan, Anthony and Kennedy Ruscetta. Great-Granddaughter Maura Rose Malone. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue, Bound Brook. The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bound Brook, NJ. Burial will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
