Bohdan Stryzak, 67, died in the early morning hours of Tuesday July 10th at University Hospital in Newark after receiving a liver transplant on May 16th in hopes that he would continue to be able to spend his early retirement years with his wife and soon to be born grandson. Born in Newark NJ, he was the son of Andrew and Mary Stryzak. He and his beloved wife Anne lived in Bridgewater, NJ and raised two children together. Bohdan worked as an electronic and RF engineer while also sharing the educational duties of homeschooling their children with Anne. He was a devout Orthodox Christian – Anne and Bohdan recently participated in a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Bohdan is survived by his wife Anne (“Hannia”), sister Orysia and son Omelan, whose wife Xenia is expecting their first child in their home in Lawrenceville, NJ. Sadly during Bohdan’s time in the hospital, Anne suffered a stroke after one of her daily hospital visits with him – she is left with right arm, right leg paralysis and aphasia (speech issues) – she will likely be wheelchair-bound the rest of her life, but her mind is sharp and her heart is strong. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home with a panakhyda (memorial) service starting at 7:30pm. The funeral service will be held on Friday July 13th at 10:00 AM at St. Andrews Memorial Orthodox Church in South Bound Brook, followed by burial at St. Andrew Cemetery. Following the burial a Mercy Meal will be held at Moma Rosina's, 350 Main Street, Bound Brook, NJ 08805
