Betty Johnson

Betty M. Johnson, 92, died Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Somerset Woods Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Somerset. Born in Riegelsville, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Black) Young. She spent most of her life in Bridgewater. She was a charter member of The Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Somerville, a member of The G.F.W.C. Phoenix Club of New Jersey, the Woman’s Literary Club of Bound Brook, and was a former member of the Ladies Elks of Bound Brook. Mrs. Johnson was predeceased by her husband, Jay, in 2009, and her brother, R. Dale Young. She is survived by a daughter, Joy L. Johnson of Monmouth Junction, a niece, Valarie Moninghoff, and two nephews, Jeffrey and Barry Young. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 12, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 300 Union Avenue, Somerville, 08807. Visiting will be from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 P.M. Friday, November 4, at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
