Bernice Lopa

Bernice Lopa, 84 died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at Francis Parker Home in Piscataway. Born in Bound Brook, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Dolores (Ricci) Lopa. Bernice was a graduate of Bound Brook High School and Rutgers University where she received her master’s degree in Women Studies. She was employed by Rutgers for 40 years, before retiring as the Senior Financial Aid Officer in 1996.

She enjoyed crafts, knitting, needle point, and crocheting and cheering on her alma mater’s football team. Bernice was a communicant and organist of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway for many years.

Bernice is survived by several cousins and many friends.

Gathering will be 4:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, March 20, 2023, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, NJ 08805. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 501 New Market Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854. Burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bridgewater will follow.
