Bernadine Hnasko

Bernadine Hnasko, 87, died Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Abingdon Care and Rehab Center in Green Brook. Born in Hazleton PA, she was the daughter of John and Veronica Serata. Bernadine moved to the area 60 years ago, living in Somerville for a short time before settling in Bound Brook with her husband, Peter. Together they raised eight children. Bernadine loved bingo and was a devoted communicant of St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Bernadine’s greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family gatherings and was always there when someone needed help. Bernadine was predeceased by her husband, Peter and her son, Thomas. She is survived by her children, David and his wife, Donna; Peter and his wife, Valerie; Lori Carr and her husband, Kenny; John and his wife, Laura; Randy and his wife, Michelle; Holly Domenic and her husband, John, and James and his wife, Kelly; her sister, Janet; her 21 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Gathering with the family will be 8:30 to 10:30 AM, Monday, November 19, 2018, at the funeral home, followed by an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Czestochowa Church in Bound Brook. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
