Anne Mcallister

Anne Kennedy McAllister nee’ Blake, Hillsborough, formerly of Green Brook entered into eternal life on Saturday June 9, 2018. Anne was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister in law and friend. Anne’s spirit is carried on by her parents Beryl and George Blake of Bound Brook, her daughter Jennifer Kennedy McAllister Ostroski and son-in-law David Ostroski of Middlesex and their children Jack and Penny; her daughter Elizabeth Anne McAllister of Somerville, her sister Laura Blake Peterson, niece Paige Kennedy Peterson , brother in law Rev. Louis Kilgore of Califon, and Franklin Lakes; her partner Bob Hawkridge of Dunellen as well as many other nieces and nephews, friends and loved ones. Anne was born on December 23, 1957 at the Glasgow Royal Infirmary in Glasgow, Scotland. She grew up in Bound Brook and graduated Bound Brook High School in 1976. She attended Lafayette College and graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1980. In her professional life she worked in the Financial Aid office of Rutgers University for over 20 years, retiring only when her illness prevented her from working any longer. Anne volunteered to help her neighbors through the Green Brook EMS. She was a lover of birds, cats and any stray animal or persons in need. She made strangers into friends wherever she went. She had a heart of compassion for the elderly and anyone who lived with physical challenges. She was a collector of everything. She grew up in the Bound Brook Presbyterian Church and was a former member of the Dunellen Presbyterian Church. She will be dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate her courage in her valiant battle against multiple sclerosis. Donations in her Honor are requested for the Green Brook Fire, EMS or the Multiple Sclerosis Research Society. A service of Christian Witness to the Resurrection in gratitude to God will be held at the Reformed Church of Bound Brook, South Main Street, South Bound Brook on Friday June 15th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Louis Kilgore, Pastor of the High Mountain Church, in Franklin Lakes will be officiating, followed by burial at Bound Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14th at the Hagan- Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave, Bound Brook from 2-4pm and 6-8 pm
