Amy Jean Stevenson Zambrowski, 67, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Rolling Hills Care Center, Lebanon. Born February 2, 1947, in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Howard and Muriel Clausen Stevenson. Raised in Franklin Township and South Bound Brook, she resided in Monroe Township for twenty-three years before moving to East Amwell in 1995. Amy graduated Bound Brook High School, Class of 1965. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Studies from Kean University (Newark State College), Class of 1969, and her Masters Degree in Information and Library Science from Rutgers University in 1988. From 1970 to 1973, Amy worked for American Telephone and Telegraph Company, as a Security Transfer Agent. From 1980 to 1982 she was a Substitute Teacher for the East Brunswick Board of Education. From 1983 to 1986 she was a Consultant for Network Information Center, New Jersey Educational Computer Network. From 1986 she worked as a Systems Analyst and Senior Programmer for Mathematica Policy Research, Princeton. A prolific technical writer, her research projects and papers on policy were published and utilized by various Federal and state government agencies. She retired in 2008, after more than twenty years with Mathematica. She had held other jobs as well, and spent some time as a “stay at home” mom, devoted to and raising her children. Amy was also a fine artist. She was a member of the Suburban Artist Guild, East Brunswick, Artsbridge, Lambertville, and the Hunterdon Water Color Society. Active in her community, she was a former member of the Historic Preservation Committee, East Amwell, the East Amwell Township Board of Adjustment, and the Monroe Township Board of Education. She was a volunteer for the Hunterdon County Library and the Hunterdon Medical Center. Amy was a true creative spirit. Besides art, her interests encompassed cooking, sewing, crocheting, needlepoint, cross country skiing, and bicycling. She was an avid reader and pianist. She loved traveling, especially the American West. Amy is survived by her husband of forty-three years, Lawrence J. Zambrowski; her sons, Mark A Zambrowski of Milford, Massachusetts; Matthew E. (Iris) Zambrowski of Montgomery; her sister, Linda Costello of Sanibel Island, Florida; her brother, Robert Stevenson of Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and her four beloved grandchildren, Alaina, Ryan, Alexander, and Nathan Zambrowski. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 1, at Hagan - Chamberlain Funeral Home, with the Reverend Martin Winters, Pastor of the Reformed Church of Bound Brook, South Bound Brook, officiating. Interment will be at Bound Brook Cemetery. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hunterdon Hospice, 2100 Wescott Drive, Flemington, New Jersey 08822.
