Alyce Marie Maynard, 95, passed away peacefully at Country Meadows Retirement Communities, Bethlehem on June 29, 2023, with her daughters by her side. Born in Westport, MA, she was the daughter of Napoleon Bonaparte and Laura (Bouley) Lemaire. She grew up in Westport, and attended the local high school. As a young woman, she and her friends attended a dance at the Lincoln Park Dance Hall, a popular spot on the lake’s shore. It was there that she met her future husband George D. Maynard Jr. They married soon after and started their family. The Maynards moved to Jersey City in 1951 and settled in Bound Brook in 1958. Mrs. Maynard was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and was very active in the parish community, serving as a Eucharistic minister, a member of the Catholic Daughters, and volunteering for the church fiesta. She loved to travel; traveling all over the world and within the United States. She enjoyed gardening , tennis, and bowling. Her love of Wayne Newton was only surpassed by her love for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend whose absence will be felt by all who knew her.
Alyce was predeceased by her husband George D. Maynard Jr.; her daughters Louise and Anita; and her son George D. Maynard III.
She leaves behind her loving daughters Judith Jepsen and Susan Jones and her husband Robert; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
