Alison Gardella

Alison Claire Gardella, 68, of Somerset, NJ passed away on October 30 in Robert Wood Johnson Hospital-New Brunswick.

Alison was born in Margaret Hague Hospital, Jersey City to William D. Van Wart Sr. and Hazel Evelyn Decker Van Wart on January 1, 1955. She went to high school at Bayonne High School and graduated in 1972. She went on to earn a BA from Jersey City State College in 1976 and an MS in Computer Science from Montclair State College in 1985. She worked as a computer programmer for various companies. She enjoyed skiing, traveling, swimming, and baseball.

Alison is survived by her sister Arlene Weiss of Bayonne, NJ, her nieces Valarie Warren, Elizabeth Manduke, Kristine Van Wart and Kimberly Weiss and her nephew William K. Van Wart, as well as four grand nephews, two grand nieces, four great-grand nieces and one great-grand nephew.

She wad preceded in death by her parents, William D. Van Wart Sr. and Hazel Evelyn Decker Van Wart and her brother, William D. Van Wart Jr.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM. Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue,  Bound Brook. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Reverend Kristen Foley of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery, LInden, NJ.
