James E Jenkins

June 3, 1949 — March 4, 2025

James Jenkins, a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4th at 75 years. A man of deep love, laughter, and resilience, he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Born in Dover, James Jenkins proudly served his country as an Air Force mechanic during the Vietnam War. He carried that same dedication into his career as a truck driver and later as an associate at Home Depot, where he was known for his hard work, reliability, and quick wit.

To those who knew him, James was a wise guy in the best sense—always ready with a joke, a playful nudge, or a hearty laugh. He believed in a little tough love but wrapped it in endless affection. Whether horsing around with family, cracking jokes over a plate of steak and potatoes, or enjoying his favorite shows like MASH* and cartoons with his granddaughter, he brought joy to every moment. He had a passion for the open road, Disney, and paintball, but above all, he loved his family fiercely.

James Jenkins is survived by his two sons, Matthew Jenkins and his wife, Katie, step-grandchildren, Liam, Jack and Alex Budelmann and Jimmy Jenkins and his wife, Tonya, as well as his beloved granddaughter, Harper Jenkins, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

He also leaves behind his sister Charlene Daunton and her husband David (Dave) of Bethlehem, PA, along with their son Jason and grandchildren Riley, Brock, Bridget, Ellie, and Ronan of Milford, NJ. His brother, Donald Jenkins, and his wife Theresa of Sanatoga, PA, along with their three sons: Brian and Jen with their sons, Owen and Wyatt, Monterey, CA. Patrick and Corina with their daughters Aria and Ava in Pottstown, PA and Michael and Kim with their daughters, Marissa and Mikayla in Royersford PA. His niece and goddaughter, Cheryl Jenkins of Apopka, FL, also mourns his passing. He now joins his beloved sister, Barbara Jenkins, in eternal rest.

Though he is no longer with us, his laughter, and love, will live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. May his memory forever bring smiles, just as he did in life.

A celebration of his life will be 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Avenue in Bound Brook. The Prayer Service will begin at 3:30 PM followed by Military Honors.   In honor of his love for good food and good company, the family invites all who knew him to gather, share stories, and remember a man who made the world brighter with his humor and heart.

Rest easy, James. We’ll carry your jokes, your love, and your wisdom with us always.
